I use my devices for many different purposes including work and banking and inevitably have to encounter some more risky websites that it seems to deal with well. However, I've also been diligent in not putting my eggs in one basket and relying on just one security provider to do everything so wherever possible, I've tried to ensure that my chrome browser settings are maximally secured that there's some sort of firewall protection available, which in my case is through both my Internet service provider router and Windows Defender on my laptops. I also ensure I do periodic virus scans by Windows defender as a backup. I will also do the three types of scan, including the offline scan offered by Windows defender for a deep down check of my machines though it's hard to tell whether or not Defender ever finds anything as I've never had any report from Defender indicating that it has.

think the fact that Esecure provides protection across 5 devices at the same price it has always supplied it on in a historic deal agreed 10 years ago (£25 per month) means it provides trustworthy value for money. I have occasionally experienced one or two gremlins usually associated with updates to Windows which may have affected older devices I work with and their capability of dealing with F secure as a result. Occasionally when I do check the task manager function on windows. F secure and its associated bits have occasionally been using a great deal of processing power,. And that can be taken either way as it indicates it's obviously dealing with a threat or it can occasionally slow machines down, but this issue is very occasional.. However, I have also found F secure customer support to be very helpful and sincere and fairly easy to communicate with which you cannot say for so many other companies at the moment.

I like the fact that F-Secure is not 'typically American' or based there and is not one of the big names but is quietly innovating well in the background. I further like the fact that they do not constantly pop up like the bigger names such as Norton or MacAfee which frequently send irritating or even worryingly deceptive messages or pop-ups etc to get my custom, which I do not think is best practice or impressive for such an important issue..

My hope for the future is that F-Secure will continue to innovate and include things like VPN protection as standard in their more basic packages. I use other programmes to protect and create passwords so I'm not particularly worried about F secure including that, as is also the case with firewall protection. Having one brand do everything is probably not best practice anyway I think

1. It pushes its own browser extensions. They are not necessary, though some users may like the website ratings thing. And in the newest version (18.0), you can now dismiss the warnings that the browser extensions are not installed.
2. No built-in firewall. This is a huge flaw, in my opinion. F-Secure USED to have their own firewall, but they removed it. Now it depends on Windows firewall. However, F-Secure still provides great protection, and is highly-ranked (see av-test). If you want extra protection, you can install something like SimpleWall, or even use VoodooShield (not a firewall, but very useful). They work fine alongside F-Secure SAFE.
